How much do I need? Take the amount of inches you need for your binding and divide by 36. This will give you how many yards to purchase.
Measure all the sides to your quilt in inches. Add them all together and add 10 inches to the total. This 10” is for corners and the end tails. Then, divide by 36. This will give you the amount of yards you need to purchase for your quilt.
Example: 45” X 60” Quilt
45” + 45” + 60” + 60” + 10” = 220”
220”/36” = 6.11 Yards Purchase 6.5 Yards to bind the example quilt.
