Center Block 9

What a funny name, “Snail Trail,” but that is this month’s 2nd block! In case you are wondering why it is called the Snail Trail, it comes from its visual resemblance to the glistening, spiraled trail a snail leaves behind as it moves. Of course, it can also be found as the Monkey Wrench or the Indiana Puzzle, according to Barbara Brackman. Either way, it just doesn’t just have a fun name, but it is fun to make!!!! For this block, I did use It’s Sew Emma Foundation Paper Piecing (FPP) Pad. This is what the video focused on. However, I did write a traditional pieced pattern for the larger quilt only. I wouldn’t dare make the smaller one without FPP. *Note, we do carry the Snail Trail FPP pads from It’s Sew Emma. However, we are currently out of stock for the 4” size. You can purchase the 4” size from Fat Quarter Shop. They do, currently, have it in stock!

On our YouTube Channel, a tutorial with tips and tricks is uploaded to give you some inspirations and insights to the pattern. I will drop the link for the video, after its release.

As an added bonus, Vicki Holloway of My Creative Corner3 is joining along in the fun!! She will be making the quilt with 4” blocks, instead of the 6” that Angel is doing! Her quilt top will finish at 47” square. Her blocks are beautiful!!! You can follow along her progress at:
