This is the 11th Pattern Drop for the Fantabulous Scrappy Stars QAL!
Center Block 12
The Economy Block is all about using those scraps! This block became very popular during the Great Depression of the 1930’s. It was perfect for thrifty quilters to “economically” use those scraps of fabric from worn-out clothing to make a beautiful and warm quilt. Of course, I think it is economic to say “Economy Block” instead of “Square-in-a-Square-in-a-Square.” This block is perfect for the Fantabulous Scrappy Stars QAL!
Because I know that so many of you enjoy traditionally piecing, we have included the pattern with you in mind. The pattern is written for traditionally piecing. However, we are building this block with a FPP pattern from It’s Sew Emma. This is what the video focused on. “Sew,” grab your pattern and check out this week’s video!
On our YouTube Channel, a tutorial with tips and tricks is uploaded to give you some inspirations and insights to the pattern. Click Here to watch this week’s video!
As an added bonus, Vicki Holloway of My Creative Corner3 is joining along in the fun!! She will be making the quilt with 4” blocks, instead of the 6” that Angel is doing! Her quilt top will finish at 47” square. Her blocks are beautiful!!! You can follow along her progress at:
